As his government winds down, the alternate security team of Governor Rauf Argebesola popularly known as “State Boys” has adopted a tougher stance.

The “state boys” are identified as street characters imported into Osun state from Lagos to serve as “civilian security” for the state headman.

Sources claim they generally serve as the governor’s shadow security team and unofficial militant arm of his administration and the All Progressives Congress in Osun state.

“Calling them shadow security is being polite they are political thugs brought in from Lagos” a source asserted.

Sources on ground disclosed the team made up of street players – all young men – are fiercely loyal to the Governor.

“They have changed in this last days. Before they use to joke and play around in areas and with people they have become familiar with, but all that is changed. They have adopted a tougher stance” a source claimed.

Many are attributing the new stance to need to efficiently do their work as a major election nears in Osun state.

And outgoing governor Argebesola is keen to install a successor of his choice in order to “protect” his legacy.
