Akeredolu Leverages On Promise Of 30,000 Jobs Creation In Ondo Guber Election
…As Boroffice, Abegunde, Omololu canvass for more support for ACN candidate
Rotimi Akeredolu, the Action Congress Gubernatorial Candidate in the upcoming Ondo election is striving to shore up his popularity.
He is said to be utilising this by leveraging on promises of job creations.
The former Nigeria Bar Association president had promised to create 30,000 jobs within 100 days in office.
He created an online platform for applicants to apply at a fee of One thousand naira.
Sources claimed over 15000 applications have been made- despite contest from oppositions on the veracity of the claim.
‘It shows the people believe Akeredolu and are ready to support him’ a campaign official stated.
Informants further revealed that, to show commitment of purpose- the Akeredolu Campaign Organisation is working towards securing jobs for some of the applicants before the election.
This is aimed at greatly boosting the candidates popularity and integrity amongst the electorates.
And consolidating this move are efforts by other aspirants within the Action Congress of Nigeria towards the election.
Ex contenders such as Senator Ajayi Boroffice, Festus Oluwole, Senator Meroyi Omololu, Olatayo Aribo,, Hon. Aale Akinterinwa and Hon. Abegunde Ifedayo are said to have hit the grass root canvassing for more support for Akeredolu.
They hinge their campaign on the issue of job creations and promises of better performance than the incumbent.
The battle for the number one seat in Ondo state is viewed as majorly between sitting governor and Labour party Candidate Olusegun Mimiko and Action Congress of Nigeria man, Rotimi Akeredolu. Third contender, flag bearer of People’s Democracy Party, Olusola Oke is generally labelled an underdog by kilometres.
The election comes up on Saturday, October 20 2012.
