Aides Take Sides – With Wanton Abandon – As Gulf Widens Between Minister Aregbesola & Gov Oyetola

Societynow.ng gathered that the gulf between the Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola and the Governor of Osun state Gboyega Oyetola has widened.

And the situation has gone so bad that aides are publicly taken sides with wanton abandon.

Societynow.ng gathered that the commissioner sent his assistant to represent him and Aregbesola publicly hit back at him by branding him ‘’an unserious element’’.

Aregbesola, the immediate past governor of Osun state, came from his new base in Abuja to attend the event that the commissioner shunned.

Insiders disclosed that this particular incident provides a clear window into the raging but underground fight between Aregbesola and Oyetola.

Oyetola who was the Chief of Staff in all the eight years Aregbesola served as the governor of Osun state is striving to assert himself as the new man in charge of the affairs of Osun state.

Societynow.ng gathered that Oyetola is not finding it easy in the face of the ‘’suffocating influence’’ of Aregbesola who is still trying to get things done his way as a Minister and political leader in the state.

Insiders disclosed that at stake in the growing fight is the control of the ruling party structure in the state and the power to make recommendations for appointments within party and government at the federal – and state – level.

Insiders disclosed that Oyetola’s move to be a man of his own and Aregbesola’s refusal to hands off the affairs of the state as a ‘’leader of thought’’ – with their aides recklessly taking sides – is brewing a major crisis in the government of Osun state and party.
