Loyalists of former governor Ibikunle Amosun in the Ogun state House of Assembly elected on the platform of the Allied People’s Movement (APM)have returned to the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC).

The returnees were part of the former governor’s passionate followers that swelled the ranks of the APM in a futile effort to show the political mastery of Amosun with APM’s defeat of APC in the gubernatorial election and winning win the state legislative seats that APC denied them the tickets to contest.

Though they won the legislative seats their party failed to win the gubernatorial election.

Amosun was passionately against Dapo Abiodun the candidate of his party, APC becoming the Governor of Ogun state – though he failed in the bid to stop the latter.

Societynow.ng learned the return of seven APM lawmakers to APC is meant to take advantage of the upcoming nationwide re-registration and revalidation exercise of the APC to officially team up with Amosun in the cold war for the control of the APC in Ogun state.

The returnee members are listed as Modupe Mujota- Abeokuta North, Musefiu Lamidi – Ado-Odo/Ota II, Amosun Yusuf- Ewekoro, Ajayi Bolanle – Egbado South, Ganiyu Oyedeji- Ifo II, Ajibola Sikiratu -Ipokia/Idiroko and Adeniran Ademola- Sagamu II.

Backed with the influence of their supporters, the returnees are expected to boost Amosun’s influence in the ongoing fight for control of the APC in Ogun state.
