After two Nights In EFCC Custody, Okorocha Gets Bail

Former Governor of Imo State Rochas Okorocha is out of the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He was given bail on health grounds and with an agreement to be available on request of the anti-corruption agency societynow.ng learned.

The former Governor’s spokesperson Sam Onwuemeodo confirmed his release from EFCC custody in the statement he issued.

Onwuemeodo’s statemenet reads in part ““He left the Commission’s office on the afternoon of Thursday, April 15, 2021. Recall that we had promised that the former lmo State governor would fully cooperate with the agents of the Commission since it was operating within the ambit of the law establishing it.”

Okorocha who now represents Imo West in the Senate is battling allegations of corruption and abuse of office when he served as the Governor of Imo State.
