Abiodun’s Men Celebrate As Amosun’s Trusted Ally Gives Him Major Blow

An ally rated in different circles as a very trusted ally of former Governor Ibikunle Amosun has dealt him a major.

He has jumped ship to side with the former Governor’s main opponent.

Derin Adebiyi, the Chairman of the faction of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun state with Amosun as leader is now in the camp of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Adebiyi joins the Abiodun camp along with a number of Amosun’s supporters across the state.

The move deals a major blow to the perception about the political strength of Amosun who is the immediate past Senator representing Ogun Central.

And the Abiodun camp is celebrating the feat.

“Thousands of loyalists of former governor Ibikunle Amosun from the 20 local government areas of Ogun State, have rejoined the main stream of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by the State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun” the Governor’s spokesperson trumpeted in a statement with the header “Thousand Dumps Amosun, Re -Align With Abiodun”.

The statement disclosed Governor Abiodun formally received the Adebiyi and his co-travelers at the Presidential Lodge, Abeokuta,

Pictures from the engagement were also released.

The Amosun camp has not reacted to the development.

A frontline figure in the camp of the former Governor, Adebiyi was thick with Amosun throughout his two-term administration as Ogun state helmsman and fought side by side with him against Abiodun since the pre-2019 election until the latest switch of allegiance many describe as “shocking”.
