Ogun East Senator, Gbenga Daniel is back from is foreign trip.

He staged what is termed the biggest “choir concert” in Ogun state today, April 30, 2023.

The event was held at Abraham’s Terbanacle, Oba Erinwole Road, GRA Shagamu.

Expectedly Governor of Ogun state Dapo Abiodun was absent at the event that attracted big wigs in the state from far and near.

One of the highlights was an organ performance by former Governor Daniel.

Abiodun and Daniel are engulfed in a supremacy battle that saw the Senator-Elect gave his support to Ladi Adebutu,  the candidate of the rival People’s Democratic Party in the March 11, gubernatorial election.

Abiodun and Daniel are members of the All Progressives Congress (PDP) and from the same axis in Ogun state – Remo.

Daniel’s political play reportedly resulted in a near-loss for Abiodun.

The governor secured his election by a margin of 13,915 votes. The Governor polled 276, 298 votes against Adebutu’s 262, 383 votes.

Adebutu is contesting Abiodun’s win based on claims that alleged orchestrated violence forced the cancellation of results in areas he was leading by 33,000 votes – more than the margin that gave the governor victory.

The Abiodun’s camp holds Daniel responsible for the development which broke open the political fight between the two camps.

The event is a form of giveback to the church by the former governor through, among other things, encouraging “the art of singing in churches” by staging competitions among choirs and rewarding winners..
