…stages low profile wedding for son, Nasir

If appearances are anything to go by- then sacked military top brass, lieutenant general Abdulrahman Dambazau rtd is certainly experiencing the buoyant side of life after leaving office.

Sources divulged that the former Chief of Army Staff just moved into a newly completed and magnificent mansion in Kano state

The property sources described as sitting on about three plots of land is located on Alu Avenue.

The area is labelled the preferred residence location of Kano Elites presently.

On the spot observers at the stately home tagged it ‘sophisticated architectural master piece’.

It is said to parade state of the art electrical gadgets right from the gate that is remote controlled to other corners of the new family seat of the Dambazaus.

The former military top brass was said to have moved into the compound that houses a massive main building and boys quarters barely two months ago.

The early occupation of the home was said to be in preparation for the wedding of his son Nasir on Saturday January 29 2010.

Visitors at the wedding reception held at the place claimed the odour of fresh paints in certain parts of the compound was discernable- along with tit bits of hurriedly finished works.

Nasir wedded Afusat, the daughter of another connected Kano figure, Alhaji Abduallahi Madalabi.

The wedding fathia held at Madalabi’s home located off Zoo Road Kano had Alhaji Isiaku Rabiu as Officiating Minister.

In attendance at the ceremony that lasted barely an hour were Alhaji Galhi Na’aba, Governor Danjuma Goje among others.

The Dambazaus guests moved to the newly completed Alu mansion immediately after the wedding fathia – and the privileged guests were hosted to a couple of local dishes complemented with Jollof rice inside the main sitting room.

No alcoholic drink was served at the occasion.

According a source the interior décor of the mansion that parades a chocolate brown colour was not flamboyant.

‘A floor length flat screen television was placed at a vantage angle, there were two major photographs placed on the floor- that of the retired army officer and his wife with a brigade of guard and just the two of them together’ a source divulged.

The chairs were of multiple sizes and shapes but uniform colour.

According to another observer ‘after experiencing that place you come off with the impression that the owner is comfortable and happy with himself- but certainly not flamboyant’.

The monetary value of the property could not be ascertained at press time.

Dambazau was sacked as Chief of Army Staff towards the end of year 2010 in a major sweep that changed top security chiefs by President Jonathan Goodluck.
