As Opposition Mounts… Obanikoro Initiates Underground Talks With APC Senators Over Confirmation Of Re Appointment As Minister!

Investigations by societynowng.com revealed connected politician, Musiliu Obanikoro has initiated talks with the opposition in order to thwart mounting stance against confirmation of his re nomination as a minister.

The popular People’s Democratic Party chieftain had resigned as the Minister of State for Defence to battle for his party’s ticket in becoming the lagos state gubernatorial candidate.

He lost the contest to fellow party man backed by a collage of those against him within his party, Jimi Agbaje.

The former minister had alleged the exercise that thumped him out of the gubernatorial ticket race unfair and fraught with malpractices and headed to court to seek redress.

National party leaders had stepped him to prevent a collapse of the party structure within the state – and against backdrop the opposition was attempting to lure the aggrieved politician over – and offered to compensate Obanikoro with his former opposition in exchange for remaining committed to the pdp ideals, and working for the success of the Lagos Gubernatorial ticket winner, Agbaje at the polls.

In keeping with agreements brokered Obanikoro embraced Agbaje as PDP candidate and hit the streets campaigning for him.

The president also went on to nominate him for re appointment as Minister.

However since news of his nomination hit town, Obanikoro has faced increasing opposition.

Investigation revealed moves against him comes from two fronts, those against him within his party and the opposition described as the All Progressives Congress represented by Asiwaju Tinubu whose overtures he snubbed.

Information revealed Obanikoro was offered the position of Senator Remi Tinubu ( Wife of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu) and repayment of all his gubernatorial campaign expenses to dump the PDP for the APC.

And in refusing, he incensed age long political fight that started when he moved out of the Asiwaju camp to the PDP.

‘And Asiwaju has promised him the APC will block his confirmation as a minister..that is the script playing out against Obanikoro’ an insider disclosed.

His nomination has been buffeted with myriads petitions and street protests.

Societynowng.com however learnt the embattled politician has taken the fight headlong.

He is disclosed as currently in talks – individually – with the All Progressives Congress Senators against him.

Sources disclosed he is trying to reach persona terms that would make them to keep ‘their peace’ rather than engage in actions that would knock him off his feet when he eventually appears before them.

Further revelation has it, he has reached out to the party hierarchy to quell antics against him within his own party.
