INEC Declares APC’s Okpebholo Winner Of Edo Guber Election

A winner has emerged in the keenly contested Edo state gubernatorial election.

He is the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Monday Okpebholo.

The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) returning office, Farouk Adamu declared Okpenholo winner in the evening of Sunday, September 22, 2024.

According the results released by INEC, Okpebholo secured 291,667 votes to.defeat his closest opponent Asue Ighodalo of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who got 247,274 votes.

Ighodalo is the preferred choice of outgoing Governor Godwin Obaseki in the election that held on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

Obaseki is the leader of the PDP in the Edo state.
