President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife and Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 65th birthday, describing her as a woman of “quiet strength and enduring grace” whose sacrifices have served the nation in profound ways.

In a personal birthday message on Sunday, Tinubu paid tribute to the First Lady — a former senator representing Lagos Central — as she marked the milestone.

“Oluremi Mi, as you celebrate your 65th birthday today, I honour not only the love of my life, but also a woman whose quiet strength and enduring grace have been my steadying anchor,” the President wrote.

Tinubu recalled their journey together, noting that his wife had stood firmly by him “through every season, from the long years of struggle and political exile, to leadership responsibilities” with patience, dignity and devotion.

He said Remi Tinubu is “more than a wife” to him, calling her his confidant and counsellor whose life is an example of compassion and faith for their children and grandchildren, and a symbol of “the true strength of womanhood” to the nation.

“Nigeria owes you more than many will ever know. In every sacrifice you made quietly, in every burden you carried without complaint, you have served this country as surely as I have, not from the podium, but from the heart of our home,” Tinubu wrote.

While thanking God for her life and health, the President said the First Lady’s warmth and empathy “continue to touch millions of lives across our land.”

“As your lifelong companion, I say that I love you more than ever, and am blessed every day by your presence. Your love is a treasure I hold dear,” he added.

Oluremi Tinubu, a three-term senator before becoming First Lady in 2023, clocks 65 today.
