Five years after, the Lagos Mansion of Tajudeen Akinlade and his wife – ex beauty queen Chinenye Ochuba lost via court order remains unoccupied.

Only the “maiguard” (gateman) resides in the compound societynow learnt.

Sources confirmed this development came to be since October 2012 when the Akinlades were sacked from their home via court order.

The ex beauty queen’s husband was said to have built his “mansion” situated in Alakuko area of Lagos on a contentious land.

The other party claiming ownership of the land had dragged him to court and refused compensation, even after he won the case.

The court ruled the man said to be in contention to become the next governor of Ogun built on a land not his.

And since he couldn’t move his house, Akinlade and his ex beauty queen wife and two children – at the time -, were forced to abandon home.

But since then the place has remained vacant societynow confirmed

“I think two factors are working against the place…it is a mansion and few people can afford to maintain such a place as a rented property in that part of town and secondly the controversy associated with it also makes prospective tenants stay off once they become familiar with the history of the place” an insider explained.

Checks revealed at a point after he moved out, Akinlade was offered the place again by the man who instituted the case that forced him out but he spurned the chance to return.
