5th Term Reps Member Wole Oke Tells How Joining APC Is Troubling Osun PDP, Reveals Next Plot
been luring his supporters from the PDP to the APC
Wole Oke, the five-term federal legislator who just joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), has revealed how the move is troubling the political party he just exited—the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Oke, who has been the Federal House of Representatives member representing the people of Oriade/Obokun federal constituency since 2003—missing out only during the 2011 to 2015 political period—says his defection has turned his constituents into “beautiful brides.”
“Come and see offers! Commissioners calling them here and there. ‘We would give you SA (Special Adviser), Super Councilor (Supervisory Councillor), buy you a car, build you a house’—and even faking calls from His Excellency, Mr. Governor, who wasn’t even in town,” the House of Representatives member revealed, describing the intense lobbying by the PDP to prevent other party members from joining him in the APC.
He made the revelation in a social media post on May 5, 2025.
Oke has been luring his supporters from the PDP to the APC since he left the political party towards the end of April 2025.
Before joining the APC—after a fractured relationship with Governor Ademola Adeleke that threatened his chances of retaining the PDP ticket for another term in the National Assembly—Oke was one of the most influential figures in the party.
His deep pockets and far-reaching influence helped keep the party afloat during the 12 years it failed to produce a governor, before the PDP returned to power through Adeleke in 2022.

And now, he has hinted at plans to deploy his statewide network to further deplete the PDP’s ranks in favor of his new political party.
“I allowed some of our various Ward and Local Government Executive members in the PDP in Obokun, Oriade, and other Local Government Areas to stay back and enjoy the fruits of their labour. Ditto some elected Council Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Councillors, SA, SSA, Commissioners, and State House of Assembly members. At the appropriate time, they will join me. Watch out for a shock from all the Local Governments in Iwo Federal Constituency and Ife North, Ife South, Atakumosa East and West. It’s a MOVEMENT. A Family that has been in place for over 25 years,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
The import of Oke’s declaration lies in the knowledge that the next Osun State gubernatorial election is just around the corner—coming up in 2026—and Governor Adeleke is seeking a second term in office.
“And the Governor cannot afford for his party to keep losing members to the party in charge of the Federal Government—especially one keen to regain control of the state after its back-to-back 12-year rule was broken by Adeleke’s single-term victory, achieved by a slim margin,” sources say.
