5000 Defect To APC In Stronghold Of Esama Of Benin Gabriel Igbinedion As Gov Adams Oshiomhole, Guber Candidate Godwin Obaseki’s Campaign Train Berths

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, yesterday, visited Okada community in Ovia North East Local Government Area, the home of Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, where about 5000 persons defected to the APC.

Ize-Iyamu, Obaseki and Oshiomhole Oshiomhole, while addressing the crowd at the rally, vowed to retrieve all the lands illegally acquired by Chief Gabriel Igbinedion,
asserting that the state government had granted waivers to investors. He also vowed to stop any Benin Chief who intends to take the position of the Oba of Benin, asserting that the Oba’s position remains sacrosanct.

He said: “I will stop any Benin Chief who wants to take the position of the Oba of Benin. I am aware that I have had cause to revoke some lands illegally acquired by Chief Igbinedion, I will revoke more and give them to investors.

“We granted waivers to investors in order to encourage them to set up companies in the state, with Godwin as the next governor you will have nothing to fear, we will build more roads, schools and bring more investors to the state. PDP wants to come through the back door to power because they want to continue to use your money to feed the god fathers and we must stop them”.

On his part, Obaseki said Oshiomhole had prepared the foundation for development in the state, saying “ my job is to raise the house upstairs because the foundation will carry sky scrapers. We will continue to build on infrastructure, build more roads in the local governments, build more schools and recruit more teachers.
