On Tuesday, February 4, 2020, Yinka Mafe a former majority leader of the Ogun State House of Assembly died after a grand party to celebrate his 45th birthday.
At the time of his death, Mafe was one of the very visible loyalists of former Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
Four years later, amid talks of the turned-away posture, many associates of the late Mafe have adopted with his family over time- insiders tell the role that former Governor Amosun has been playing.
According to information available to SocietyNow.Ng, the immediate past Senator representing Ogun Central placed the wife on a monthly salary for the past four years.
“SIA (Senator Ibikunle Amosun) has remained in touch with the family. When Mafe died he reached out to the family and gave them a tidy package and immediately placed the family on a monthly payment since then” according to those in the know.
Added information revealed that such gestures are not a rarity with Amosun.
“Such gestures from Amosun are not limited to the family of Mafe, SIA provides plenty of succors like that to many of his loyalists and supporters but he doesn’t make noise about it” an insider stated.
