…inside details of efforts at sharing existing assets, workers amongst elected council bosses

Information available to societynowng.com have it that 37 out of the 57 newly sworn in local government chairmen by Governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun are without offices and staff of their own.

‘’They have nowhere to report to’’ multiple sources affirm.

The affected 37 are identified as bosses of newly created Local Government Development areas in the state.

Societynowng.com learnt some of the elected chairmen of the existing 20 local government areas have already shown up for work.
‘’naturally they have offices and staff on hand to work with’’ a source pointed out.

Governor Amosun had sworn in all 57 local government chairmen on Monday October 8 2016 after an election in which his All Progressives Congress won all the seats available.

Emerging details have now revealed the election was conducted and winners sworn in without a ready to take off structure to work with.
A source provided more insight ‘’they are currently sharing the assets of the existing councils amongst all the 57..cars, tables, chairs, ..everything from what i gathered’’

Societynowng.com further gathered the ongoing ‘’sharing ‘’ also includes workers.

‘’yes, the work force is being drawn up for reposting …so that it can be evenly spread, the government is just trying to work with resources at hand’’ an insider disclosed.

Added digs revealed that as regards offices, there are talks of making use of abandoned government structures for the newly created council areas and whispers some communities have offered to provide buildings as part of their contribution to development of their areas.

‘’but the bottom line is…there is no readymade offices for them before they were sworn’’ a source insist.

A deep source however claimed the initial plan was to leverage on the abandoned proposal of former governor Segun Osoba regarding creating of new council areas.

The former governor was said to have put arrangement in place to kick start new council areas if he was re elected, but he lost the attempt to retain his seat and his successor Otunba Gbenga Daniel uninterested in the initiative jettisoned the concept.

‘’Osoba back then had created offices and related structures, over the years some of the buildings have been taken over by other government agencies while others just remained abandoned…the unused ones are part of those earmarked for the newly sworn in chairmen, with plans to supplement the efforts with abandoned school buildings and the likes’’ a source provided deeper insight.

Societynowng.com gathered the original plan was for all the preparations to be completed , abandoned buildings that needed repairs or renovations done with and the whole structure in ready for immediate use mode before election, but Governor Amosun decided to conduct election and swear in winners in face of obvious challenges.
‘’the governor is the only to know the reasons for his actions…from what i can piece together, a lot of people are in the dark as to why he takes these decisions’’ a source disclosed.

But whatever the reasons are societynown.com gathered that information floating around have it that the ministry of information should release the list of new posting for local government workers in the coming week – and whether ready or not for immediate use, office locations to be utilised by the ‘’office less’’ chairmen determined as well in a move aimed at blanketing growing talks and snide remarks about ‘’sworn in council bosses with no office to report to’’.
