Insiders say Iyiola Omisore, the former Deputy Governor of Osun State is biding his time against Minister for Interior Rauf Aregbesola.

Aregbesola is accused of engaging in actions that cage the political influence and advancement of Omisore in and out of Osun State.

According to those in the know Aregbesola was the architect of the inability of Omisore to get the Senatorial ticket promised him by the ruling party – All Progressives Congress – for helping Gboyega Oyetola become the Governor of Osun.

Omisore contested on the platform of Social Democratic Party but worked for the All Progressives Congress against his former party People’s Democratic Party in a decisive rerun.

He was promised a Senatorial ticket on the platform of the APC but the promise was not fulfilled.

‘’Tinubu (Bola) submitted Omisore’s name as the party’s candidate for the Osun state Ministerial slot but Aregbesola through his northern friends such as Nasir El-Rufai cornered the position’’ societynow.ng learned.

Societynow.ng learned that Tinubu’s ploy was to move Aregbesola, who just finished two-terms as the Governor of Osun State, to the background and expand his influence into opposition camps by making Omisore a Minister in fulfillment of the promise made.

Insiders disclosed Aregbesola after going against the wishes of Tinubu has taken steps to mend fences with the APC leader but continues to snub Omisore.

‘’You can’t blame Aregbesola because a rise in the political fortune of Omisore doesn’t bode well for Aregbesola because you can’t have two captains on a ship. They play in the space’’ a source asserted.

‘’And Omisore is biding his time for payback. Politics is a game of patience, time, and chance and that is what Omisore is playing against Aregbesola’’ Societynowng learned.
