including facilities at the Victor Attah International Airport.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Friday visit Akwa Ibom State to commission major infrastructure projects completed by Governor Umo Eno’s administration, including facilities at the Victor Attah International Airport.
The President is expected in Uyo, the state capital, for the commissioning exercises and a political rally as part of his two-state visit to Akwa Ibom and Rivers states.
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu will commission the new International Terminal Building, the International Airport Hospital and the Ibom Aviation Village, all located at the Victor Attah International Airport.
Other projects scheduled for commissioning include the Airport-Okopedi Road, which connects communities in Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, and Ring Road 3, linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.
The President will also commission the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.
Ahead of the visit, Governor Eno has declared Friday a work-free day to enable residents to welcome the President.
The statement said the President’s visit would provide an opportunity to engage political stakeholders, party members and supporters, while emphasising “unity, political stability, and a shared commitment to national progress.”
Tinubu will depart Uyo for Port Harcourt on Saturday to attend an All Progressives Congress rally in Rivers State.
The rally will be his third since he flagged off his re-election campaign in Kaduna last month.
