saying the government will not only pursue those responsible
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has pledged justice and federal support for victims of the recent terror attack in Jos, saying the government will not only pursue those responsible but also stand by affected families in their time of grief.
Tinubu spoke after spending time with stakeholders and victims of the incident in Plateau on Thursday, April 2, 2026, where he offered condolences and reassurances amid growing concerns over security in the state.

“This afternoon, I spent time with stakeholders and victims of the recent terror incident in Jos, Plateau State,” the president said.
He acknowledged the depth of loss suffered by families, stressing that no intervention can undo the tragedy.
“No amount of money can bring back the dead, but the Federal Government will do our best to comfort them, walk with them and provide necessary assistance,” the nation’s leader assured.

In an emotional moment, Tinubu addressed one of the affected individuals directly, underscoring the human toll of the attack.
“Rhoda Favour, I feel your pain but no matter what we say, we cannot bring Ayuba back,” he grieved.
The president, however, maintained that the government remains resolute in its pursuit of justice, vowing that those behind the attack will be apprehended.

“We will find the perpetrators of this dastardly acts,” he declared.
The visit comes amid renewed calls for stronger security measures in Plateau State, a region that has witnessed recurring violence in recent years.
Tinubu’s assurances are expected to calm tensions as authorities intensify efforts to track down those responsible and prevent further attacks.
