Chukwuma Charles Soludo has released the official lineup of events for his second-term swearing-in ceremony as governor of Anambra State, outlining a week-long programme that blends official ceremonies with religious services.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, where Soludo and his deputy, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, will formally take the oath of office for a second term.

According to the schedule released by the governor, activities marking the inauguration will begin on Sunday, March 15, with an interdenominational service at the International Convention Centre.

The programme will culminate on Sunday, March 22, with a thanksgiving mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral.

Announcing the schedule, Soludo said the events mark the beginning of a new phase in the state’s development journey.

“The official schedule for our second-term swearing-in ceremony is as follows; Sunday, March 15, 2026: Interdenominational Service at International Convention Centre, Awka; Tuesday, March 17: Official Swearing-in Ceremony at Alex Ekwueme Square; Sunday, March 22: Thanksgiving Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral,” the governor disclosed.

Soludo described the inauguration as the start of the next stage of his administration’s development agenda for the state.

“We are gearing up for the next phase of an incredible journey towards a liveable and prosperous smart megacity,” he said.

The governor also expressed appreciation to residents of the state for renewing their trust in his leadership, pledging to pursue even greater progress during the second term.

“Grateful for the trust reposed in my deputy and I, and looking forward to achieving even greater heights with the people of Anambra State,” he added.

Soludo concluded with a note of optimism about the future of the state, declaring: “May Anambra continue to win.”
