Segun Awolowo’s 2nd Term Ambition As Export Promotion Boss Shaky

Attempts by Segun Awolowo to clandestinely retain control of the Nigerian Export Promotions Council after the expiration of his tenure on November 28, 2017, has been scuttled.

The former export promotion council was said to have shyed to hand over to acting Director Sidi Aliyu Abdullahi and opted to run the affairs of the agency from home.

He reportedly retained his official cars and drivers.

His move was reportedly premised on the promise of a second term – but yet to be approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.

He wanted his come back to be seamless.

But acting Director Abdullahi refused to be a ‘’figure head’’.

Segun’s conduct was leaked in a manner that embarrassed him and the government – and ultimately put the fulfillment of the promised second term in jeopardy.

The grandson of the late sage seeing the handwriting on the wall hastily returned the official cars in his possession and made moves put in a backdated hand over notes.

The cars were accepted but the handover notes rejected.

According to information monitored on thecable, a date to do a proper handover notes is being worked on.

Whether this would in any way affect the “promised” return to office as a second term export council D.G is unclear, especially as the acting Director he “snubbed” is from the “circle” fully in-charge of the affairs of the country.
