Reekado Banks Stars As Glo Prof Johnbull Xrays Dangers Of “Street Doctors”

As the Globacom-sponsored hilarious sitcom, Professor Johnbull, goes on air on Tuesday night, the activities of orthodox medicine practitioners and their penchant for using one drug to cure all ailments will come under the radar.

Aptly entitled “Street Doctors”, the episode will be shown at 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes.

The edition tries to draw public attention to the dangers posed by unqualified medical practitioners as well as the benefits of patronising only registered and government approved health facilities.

Although not completely dismissing the potency of orthodox medicine, Street Doctors counsels that the claims by sellers of “wonder drugs” that such drugs cure all diseases are mere sales gimmicks that should not be believed.

In the episode, the protagonist of the sitcom, Professor Johnbull (Kanayo O. Kanayo), Olaniyi (Yomi Fash-Lanso), Caro (Mercy Johnson Okojie), Flash (Stephen Odimgbe), Samson (Ogus Baba), Abadnego (Martins Nebo) and Churchill (Jnr. Pope Odonwodo) all feature, with Samson and Flash dabbling into drug peddling.

Viewers will find out what happens when KOK’s son, Churchill, is endangered after he is given a “cure-all” drug purchased from Flash. What is the reaction of the normally calm and composed Professor? What transpires after that? What does KOK say to his neighbours on this?

Marvin Records singer, Reekado Banks, also makes a guest appearance in “Street Doctors”. He stars as a “registered pharmacist.” Viewers will also find out how he conducts himself, whether he plays by the rules or decides to cut corners.

Those who miss the Tuesday broadcast can watch the repeat edition at 8.30 p.m. on Friday on the same TV channels.
