President Patrice Talon Intervenes In Celestial Church Supemacy Tussle, Meets Pastor Oshoffa
aimed at resolving the long-standing conflicts
On Thursday, April 10, 2025, President Patrice Talon of the Republic of Benin met with Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa, Pastor of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), at the pastor’s residence in Porto-Novo.
The high-level meeting centered on efforts to unify the Celestial Church of Christ, which was founded in September 1947 by Pastor Samuel Bilehou Oshoffa in Porto-Novo.

In recent years, the church has been plagued by leadership disputes that have spilled into the courts and led to the rise of splinter groups and self-declared pastors. Despite these challenges, Pastor Emmanuel Oshoffa continues to preside over the national and international headquarters, maintaining control of all major symbols and institutions tied to the late founder.
However, internal divisions have continued to weigh heavily on the church’s image, especially in enforcing discipline and curbing behaviors that undermine its integrity.

“The dissidents have been playing the factions against each other,” insiders noted, highlighting the urgent need for reconciliation.
President Talon’s visit was reportedly aimed at resolving the long-standing conflicts and creating a framework to bring all factions—particularly the growing camp of Pastor Beni Omoge—under a single, unified CCC leadership.

According to updates from the church’s official social media platform, thecccworldwide.org, several high-ranking church leaders were present at the meeting. They include: Most Superior Evangelist M.O. Ajao, Most Superior Evangelist Amos Olabode Fatusin, Assistant Most Superior Evangelist J.S. Kuti, Assistant Most Superior Evangelist Olusiji Olajide,

Assistant Most Superior Evangelist Joseph Talon, Venerable Superior Evangelist Olatosho Oshoffa, Venerable Superior Evangelist Abayomi Ilori, Venerable Superior Evangelist Kayode Adams, Venerable Superior Evangelist Hounmali, Venerable Superior Evangelist Ayo Osho, Venerable Superior Evangelist Jackson, Venerable Superior Evangelist Victor Nosa Ojo, Assistant Venerable Superior Evangelist Gouan Barthelemy, Assistant Venerable Superior Evangelist Kayode Ajala, Mother Celestial Bola Adelu, Mother Celestial Adebukanla Osibanjo, and Mother Celestial Okuyedi.
