How Wale Edun’s Ministerial Ambition Was Scuttled By Those He Helped To Power
Despite spirited backing from powerful politician, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu friend of many and former commissioner in Lagos state, Wale Edun did not make the list of ministerial nominees unveiled by Senate President Bukola Saraki.
And saddening this development is the hand work of those the low profile personality much loved across board helped to power.
Kemi Adeosun, the woman who knocked him off the list started her journey into political relevance thanks to her introduction from Edun to…wait for this, Governor Ibikunle Amosun, the man who is currently backing her endlessly.Wale Edun
And if claims of a major political player is to be taken hook line and sinker, the foundation of the wealth of the man that promoted another candidate at the expense of Edun has great in put from the former Lagos commissioner for finance.
According to disclosures made by former governor Gbenga Daniel in an open interview last year, Amosun came to him to help him with tax collection contract when Tinubu was governor of Lagos state.
He introduced him to Wale Edun the then commissioner of Finance who awarded him the deal, before Alpha Beta took over.
Obviously Wale Edun and Amosun kept in touch because according fresh revelations by Debo Adeniran of anti corruption body Cacol…Edun introduced Kemi Adeosun to Governor Amosun.
But obviously the bond that developed between Amosun and Adeosun working together as governor and commissioner for finance in the Ogun state helms man’s first term far supersedes whatever rapport the duo have with Edun.
Incidentally the sentiment that was turned upside down that threw Edun off the cart was what was used as leverage when he was in position to help.
Edun is from Ogun state- and this fact mattered when he when dishing out favours, but it bit him in the bum when he was backed as ministerial aspirant by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
According to a source ‘ the case against him was…they can’t bring a man who play it too close to the lagos crowd to claim Ogun state spot…but the real grouse is that he is too close to Asiwaju Tinubu, the same man whose influence and clout he used to dish out favours and patronage to those now against him’
Societynowng.com learnt the true position of the situation is that, it all about interests, despite his good deeds to them in the past Amosun and Adeosun believe their interests are best protected sticking together.
And today the result of that move is clear, rather than Edun, the name Kemi Adeosun is listed in lists of about to be confirmed ministerial nominees.
