How Ambrose Somide Is Making His New Radio Station Very Popular
drive to make Smailz FM 98.7 FM the next big thing on air
Ambrose Somide, the master broadcaster known as “the microphone man,” has pulled out all the stops to make his new project, Smailz Radio, the new love of listeners.
Somide, who left Daar Communications as Director of Radio Services on Thursday, October 30, 2024, resumed at Smailz Radio immediately.
The radio station, operating on the waveband 98.7 FM, had been running skeletal services before then.
The life coach and career mentor immediately deployed his 30 years of high-profile experience— including conceptualizing and transforming Faaji FM into a radio station with massive street following at Daar Communications—into play.

And the impact appears to be producing instant results.
Aside from the deployment of huge social media mentions that are making Smailz Radio known, Somide is also massively pushing narratives about the unique programmes it is offering.
The veteran radio man and his team have come up with e-posters announcing the arrival of many reputable presenters and producers with a large fan base.

With Irin Ajo Baba Elemi (Sojourn of the Spiritual Man), anchored by the radio owner nicknamed “The Big Cobra,” every Sunday from 6:10 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as one of Smailz 98.7 FM’s appeals, others on the list of must-listen-to programmes include Moji Rire (Awake to Goodness), featuring veteran Abbey Fagbore on Fridays (9:00–11:00 a.m.), Basir Adisa “Baba Gboin” on Thursdays (9:00–11:00 a.m.), Taiwo Alabi “Afada Pakuro – Cracker of Palm Kernel with a Cutlass” on Mondays (9:00–11:00 a.m.), “Ebony” Yemi Ajide on Wednesdays (9:00–11:00 a.m.), and Abiodun Adeoye “Afefe Oro – Voice on the Air.”

Added findings revealed that as part of its allure, the radio station also has on its morning belt the Smailz Breakfast Show, which is a potpourri of news, views, sports, traffic updates, and more.

The hosts of the Smailz Breakfast Show, which runs through the working days from 7:00–9:00 a.m., are Nancy, Big 98, Phinney GGB, and DJ Magic.

Somide features on the programme on Thursdays.
Among other listener attractors on Smailz FM are Gbemi Debe (Take Me There) with Soji Omotayo on Tuesdays (4:00–6:00 p.m.) and Olatorera Ibironke Olowonyo on Wednesdays (4:00–6:00 p.m.),

Thrilling Moments With Yemi Shodimu on Tuesdays and Thursdays (2:00–4:00 p.m.), Alujo Hymn Fusion Live with Segun Oluwayomi on Sunday evenings, and the Smailz Sunday Show with Consoligbadun, hosted by Sulaimon Adegbenro at midday on Sundays.

The parade of listeners’ delights and Somide’s intentionally aggressive drive to make Smailz FM 98.7 FM the next big thing on air are said to be soaring the station’s popularity.
