Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Victor Ochei is making desperate move.

He has offered to resign his post and become a floor member at the Delta state house of Assemble to salvage his threatened gubernatorial ambition.

Mr Ochei is currently undergoing increased investigation over an alleged N27b Contract Scam.

Wide spread news of the alleged fraud had tainted underground campaign efforts to succeed incumbent Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan- leading to violent protest at some of the public meetings he staged.

Gospellers of his anti guber ambition campaign recently made a headway at putting a lid on his dream by taking away support at the state house of assemble.

An impeachment process kick started with Special Adviser on Political matter, Ighoyota Amori and spear headed by majority leader in the house, Monday Igbuya was set in motion to impeach Mr Ochei.

Sources confirmed about 20 signatures had been collected in support of his removal- with the N27b contract scam and abuse of office the main reason- before an alarmed Ochei initiated a desperate soft landing strategy to protect his jeopardised ambition.

He offered to sign his post and become an ordinary floor member.

The embattled speaker reportedly set a Tuesday March 18 2014 step down date.

Sources confirmed he sought the help of Governor Uduaghan to starve off the objective of the impeachment that is prong at shredding his ambition by discrediting his person and politics.

A resignation will leave his political image intact – for now.

Informants claim as the clock ticks towards his proposed date, Mr Ochei and his acolytes are desperately working the contacts and influence peddlers to see if he can survive development ‘intact’.
