By The Numbers: Troops Post Key Successes Across Theatres Of Operation Against Terror
coordinated land and air operations
In the last 72 hours, the Nigerian Army has recorded significant operational gains across multiple theatres of operation, reinforcing its sustained offensive against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other forms of criminality threatening national security.
47 terrorists neutralised
19 criminal suspects arrested
Over 30 kidnapped victims rescued
Arms, ammunition and logistics recovered
Across the North West and North Central, troops acting on credible intelligence carried out aggressive ground operations. In Sokoto, terrorists were neutralised during successful ambushes in Binji and Tangaza LGAs, with weapons, motorcycles and communication devices recovered. In Niger State, troops engaged armed terrorists in Munya LGA, neutralising one and recovering arms and logistics.
Sustained patrols in Zamfara’s Anka and Maru LGAs disrupted terrorist activities, destroyed hideouts and rescued civilians with gunshot injuries. In Kaduna, troops foiled armed robbery and kidnapping attempts in Sanga and Zango Kataf LGAs, rescuing victims and arresting suspected cattle rustlers. Similar successes were recorded in Plateau State, where cattle rustling suspects were arrested in Barkin Ladi and Wase LGAs.
Operations in the South-South and South-East also delivered results. In Rivers State, troops thwarted planned illegal activities along the Cawthorne Channel in Degema LGA. In Delta State, two boats conveying about 1,700 litres of stolen crude oil were intercepted, dealing a major blow to economic sabotage. In Imo State, a suspect linked to the shooting of a civilian was arrested and handed over to the police.
In the Federal Capital Territory, an anti-illegal mining operation in Gwagwalada led to the arrest of 11 suspects and recovery of items linked to illicit activities.
Air Power Delivers Decisive Blows
The Air Component of ongoing operations conducted precision strikes on confirmed ISWAP/JAS logistics hubs and convergence points in Borno State, neutralising at least 42 terrorists. Secondary explosions confirmed the destruction of weapons and explosives stockpiles, while follow-up strikes targeted fleeing terrorists, further degrading their fighting capacity.
Rescue and Recovery
More than 30 kidnapped victims, including women and children, were rescued across the theatres. They received medical care where necessary and were safely reunited with their families. Recovered items included AK-47 rifles, magazines, ammunition, radios, motorcycles and mobile phones.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, continues to stress intelligence-driven, joint and people-centric operations.
The Nigerian Army reaffirms its commitment to sustaining offensive momentum, consolidating gains and working with sister services and security agencies to achieve lasting peace nationwide — while urging continued public cooperation.
