Dwindled Relevance Talks… ‘I Am Not Contesting, But Still Very Involved In Ogun Politics & PDP’
-allegedly absentee politician, Bukola Olopade
Bukola Olopade, the once upon a time most popular commissioner in the politics of Ogun state has moved to douse talks he is no longer relevance in the scheme of the politics of Ogun state.
The integral part of the regime of former governor gbenga daniel incharge of the sports ministry in a brief chat with societynowng.com disclosed
‘ I am still very much involved…I am not contesting for any post…I just finished a PDP meeting before your call came in’
Societynowng.com sources confirmed the individual more widely known as Ozo was one of the key lieutenants that defected back to the PDP from labour party along with political leader and former governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
Daniel was a two term PDP governor of Ogun state.
Internal bickering and convoluted political wrangling with myriad factions- including major stakeholder Olusegun Obasanjo forced the Mr Daniels and his supporters, including Olopade out of the party.
Out of office and party that brought his prominence, Olopade who stepped down as House of Representatives aspirant for Dimeji Bankole who eventually emerged youngest house of representatives speaker on the same slot, had quietly moved out of the consciousness of ‘the people’.
Informants claimed he became more involved with sporting activities to the detriment of politics. And even got twin mega contracts in Rivers and Delta states to the bargain.
But in his chat with societynowng.com Olopade insists he is still very much involved in the politics of Ogun state.
And in the PDP with his return.
