Former Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Mama Dunia, the mother of Most Rev. Dr. Gabriel Ghieakhomo Dunia, the Catholic Bishop of Auchi Diocese.

In a condolence message, Shaibu described Mama Dunia as a woman of great virtue whose unwavering faith and kindness touched countless lives.

He acknowledged the irreplaceable role of a mother’s love and the profound void her departure leaves in the hearts of her family and the wider Catholic community in Auchi.

“A mother’s love is irreplaceable, and her loss leaves a void that no one can fill,” Shaibu lamented. “Mama Dunia was undoubtedly a woman of virtue, whose faith, kindness, and unwavering love shaped not just her family but all who had the privilege of knowing her. She lived a life of grace and devotion, leaving behind a legacy of righteousness and service to God and humanity.”

Standing in solidarity with Bishop Dunia and the grieving family, Shaibu prayed for divine strength to help them navigate this painful moment.

The former deputy governor invoked the Holy Spirit, the great Comforter, to grant them fortitude, emphasizing that Mama Dunia’s legacy of faith and love would continue to inspire those she left behind.

On behalf of his family, Shaibu assured Bishop Dunia and the Catholic faithful in Auchi Diocese of his prayers and support.

His message of condolence concluded with a solemn prayer for the eternal repose of Mama Dunia’s soul:”Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let Perpetual Light shine upon her. May Mama’s soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”

Mama Dunia’s passing marks the end of an era, but her legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those she nurtured according to Shaibu.
