Zlatan Ibile Shows Fans How To Zanku At Ariya Repete Semi-Final
2019 has been the year of the Zanku. The street dance has taken over pop-culture, and at the heart of this sensation, has been one of Nigeria’s fastest rising Afro-pop artists, Zlatan.
The rapper with the neon coloured hair has had a year to remember, and his meteoric rise continued on Friday as he graced the Semi-Final of Ariya Repete 2019.
Zlatan, who was one of the headline performers took the stage and delighted the fans with his usual stage antics. He, however, upped the ante, by engaging in a dance-off with the fans. He even offered to teach one lucky fan how to Zanku.
His time on stage was one of the highlights of the night, and the fans were clearly elated to have the fast-rising pop-star in their midst.
Also gracing the stage was the Legendary sir Shina Peters and renowned Fuji artist, Taye Currency. The performance of Taye was particularly special for the Ibadan residents, as he is a fan-favorite and homegrown talent of the city.
The Ariya repete hopefuls also put in amazing performances as the 15 semi-finalists competed for the 9 finals spots. At the end of showpiece, the eliminated contestants included Taofeek Adeyinka & Wasiu Onilewura in the Fuji category, Seun Adebayo and Muyiwa Alayo in the Juju category, as well as Ayeni Olajuwon, and Ashley Oluwasegunn in the Yoruba Hip-Hop category.
The 9 finalists will now head to Lagos for the grand finale on the 9th of August. Performing on the night will be Olamide, Pasuma, King Sunny Ade and a host of others.
