Fresh development has compounded ongoing battle by Segun Awolowo , the Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Export Promotion Council to cling to his job.

In the face of accusations of disloyalty over refusal to become a mascot of President Goodluck Jonathan’s re election campaign in the southwest, his wife – Bola was reportedly spotted at the campaign rally held for Presidential candidate of opposition party, All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari in Lagos.

Against the backdrop of her husband’s refusal to publicly endorse President Jonathan’s re election and inherently allow him to leverage on the Awolowo fame in the southwest, those against Segun have started using the development to further rally support for his sack.

Grandson of late Yoruba leader had resisted moves to publicly endorse President Jonathan on the premise of protecting the ‘integrity’ and ‘good name’ of his family by not be seen as campaigning against one of his one.

Dolapo, the wife of the Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice Presidential candidate of opposition party APC is his cousin.

But those against him claimed as an appointee of President Jonathan and beneficiary of the administration seeking re election, he should show faith and commitment by publicly endorsing the President’s re election attempt – and bringing the Awolowo goodwill on board.

His continuous refusal has kick started agitation for his sack for a more committed loyalist to take over his position. His wife’s appearance at APC Lagos rally just compounded the situation for him.

However as attempts to oust him intensify, his friends have started a counter move to curtail campaigns against him.

They insist Segun Awolowo jr remains one of the most committed loyalists of President Goodluck Jonathan. And that he is working tirelessly behind the scene than any other person to ensure the President is re elected.

They equally alleged moves to sack him handiwork of mischief makes.
