Why Respected Monarch Awujale Disowned Statement Endorsing Sunday Igboho

The highly respected traditional ruler, Awujale of Ijebuland Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona has disowned a statement endorsing the tactics of Sunday Igboho –better known as Sunday Adeyemo – in the fight against the scourge of criminals masquerading as Fulani herdsmen.

This development comes in the face of a trending statement credited to the Awujale endorsing Igboho’s actions against Fulani herdsmen, labeling those who oppose him with uncomplimentary words and directing all Yoruba sons to support the new “hero” of fight against insecurity in the southwest.

The Awuajle in a statement signed by Person Assistant Tunde Oladunjoye asserted that “The Aafin Awujale hereby categorically denies that Kabiyesi Alayeluwa ever issued such statement or comment on the issue. “

The statement further explained why the revered monarch towed this part “As you are all aware, Kabiyesi Alayeluwa is a a great patriot and at all times fully in support of Yoruba’s progress, development and aspirations. However, it should be clarified that the statement credited to him in the meantime is a “fake news”.

This statement is issued as a matter of principle that nobody has the right to put anything in the news in our name without our knowledge and consent. “
