Why Osun PDP Members Are Jubilating Over Aregbesola’s Plot To Shift APC Guber Primary

Members of the opposition parties, especially those of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun state have stated experiencing growing confidence ahead the state’s September 22 gubernatorial election.

The joy is said to be in talks Governor Rauf Aregbesola is plotting a shift in the All Progressives Congress shadow election to determine APC’s candidate.

Sources disclosed that the APC already scheduled it’s gubernatorial primary for Saturday July 7 2018.

And aspirants are said to have worked hard to secure favorable counts from the over 5000 delegates earmarked to vote.

But Aregbesola is said to be plotting a shift to Saturday July 21 2018.

Societynow.ng gathered that Saturday July 7 was ratified by the out gone national executive led by John Oyegun to allow for “two weeks for resolution of whatever conflicts arising from the process as done in Ondo and Ekiti”.

“And this is also taking into consideration the APC is faced with a major election in Ekiti on July 14” a source stated.

According to the deadline of electoral umpire, INEC (Independent National Electoral Commission) all political parties have till July 23 to resolve disputes from primary elections.

Societynow.ng gathered that party members are kicking against Aregbesola’s move to shift the July 7 shadow election till July 21, leaving no room for any reconciliation process.

Insiders claim the agitation is based on claims that the governor is plotting a hastily conducted shadow election that would favour his Chief of staff Gboyega Oyetola – with the result quickly submitted leaving no room for party men to kick against it.

Oyetola is the step brother of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and also the candidate of the popular politician.

New National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Osiomhole is accused of favoring Aregbesola’s plot in Osun.

Sources confirmed to societynow.ng that the move to foist Oyetola on Osun APC , especially alleged plan to shift the shadow election is causing great agitation amongst party men.

Amongst the populace, Oyetola is said to be facing growing challenge based on link to Tinubu.

“Members and people on the street are threatening protest votes against move to make Tinubu’s candidate governor of the state” a source claim.

Societynow.ng gathered opposition have been milking the sentiments against Oyetola to secure support for their own agenda.

“They are now jubilating that Aregbesola is about to create a situation that would sow confusion in his party with virtually no room for reconciliation” a source disclosed.

Insiders disclosed oppositions are already moving into the situation going to town with strong assertion that Aregbesola has shifted the date of the shadow election and the voting process as part of a desperate move to make Tinubu’s candidate Governor of Osun state at all cost.

“They are laying foundation for people to turn against Aregebsola and APC for obvious reasons” a source summed up the situation.
