Why No Official Date Is Yet To Be Fixed For Ifeanyi Ubah’s Burial

Although different dates keep springing up, those who should know say no official date has been fixed for the burial of late senator, ifeanyi ubah.

Ubah died on july 27, 2024 – his birth date – while on a trip to london.

He was 52.

Since his death, less than two years after he escaped a nasty assasination attempt that claimed the lives of his aides and security operatives, different dates have been thrown up regarding his burial.

Those who should know, however, disclosed that no official date has been agreed on because of the need to accomodate all interests – and stakeholders – at play.

“Ubah’s interest overlapped into different areas including culture and tradition. And all these things need to be properly attended to, factored in while juggling the political and social equations before a suitable date is agreed on. That is what is delaying the announcement of an official date for his burial” according to those who should know.

Insiders, however, disclosed that arrangements an in top gear for an “an official date” be announced “soon”.

Ubah who died as the serving senator from Anambra south senatorial district, was a man of long reach – and extensive interests.

He was a former gubernatorial candidate, who has declared interest in having another go at the Anambra gubernatorial seat in 2025.

The founder of Capital Oil and Gas – the company embroiled in a prolonged talk of the town debt controversy at time -, ubah also owned the authority newspaper and self-named football club, Ifeanyi Ubah F.C.
