Why Kashamu Is No Longer Interested In Becoming Next Gov Of Ogun State

Emerging details have it that Senator representing Ijebu East, Kashamu Buruji may have surrendered ambition to become the next governor of Ogun state.

Societynow.ng gathered that this development is a result of the ongoing negotiation by different factions of the People’s Democratic Party to merge forces.

The reconciliation is being midwived by former Governor Gbenga Daniel.

Kashamu, an avowed political enemy of Daniel just changed position by acknowledging the former state helmsman as his mentor.

Insiders disclosed Kashamu is negotiating to retain position as Senator representing Ogun East.

“He is also working on the added benefits of getting slots in the incoming government and the party structure for his followers’ a source stated.

Societynow.ng confirmed the Senator retains control of the state party executives recognized by election umpire, Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).

Insiders disclosed the other faction recognized by the national arm of the People’s Democratic Party has gubernatorial aspirant Ladi Adebutu as the financial backer.

“But everything is being harmonized as part of efforts to take over the state government from the All Progressives Congress and outgoing Governor Ibikunle Amosun and his group” a source stated.

And insiders insist part of the “harmonization” would most likely see Kashamu retain his seat as Senator and Adebutu emerge as party gubernatorial candidate.
