Ijaw Youths are making fresh threats to shut down the operations of Chevron Nigeria Limited.
The Youths operating under the emblem of Gbaramutu Youths Council issue the threat in the face of demand for a Joint Investigation Visit to look into the alleged oil spillage in Gbaramutu Kingdom on the Chevron Nigeria Limited’s 16-inch Malcaraba Otunana Abiteye Truck Line.
The Ijaw Youths demand a Joint Investigation Visit by Chevron and representatives of Gbaramatu kingdom or else they will shut down Cheron Operations on the waterway.
The Ijaw Youths while admitting that the oil spill affects other tribes who share the water, however, insist that the Joint Investigation Visit should be limited to Gbaramatu Kingdom which is the point of occurrence.
Chevron is however claiming that there is no clear indication that the Oil Spill came from any of its facilities.
