Information available to SocietyNow.Ng has revealed why Ladi Balogun, the Group Chief Executive at FCMB Group Plc – the holding company for FCMB Plc and its subsidiaries – played what is touted a ‘subdued role” during the burial of banking legend Olasumobi Balogun.

The noble Nigerian whose burial activities are still topping discussions is the father of Ladi Balogun.

There are growing talks, backed by images here and there, from the burial that ended with an interment on July 8, 2023 in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state, that the FCMB Group CEO appeared “not to be there” during many parts of the events.

Elder brother Bolaji Balogun was the most visible family member, meeting and interacting with all the big names from far and near.

SocietyNow.Ng, however, gathered that there is nothing to the talks about being anonymous, with those who should know insisting that “Ladi was just being himself.”

According to information available “he has always been on the quiet side and crowd shy. So coming across the way he did during the burial activities was just being himself”.

Added information has it that tradition also contributed to how the FCMB Group CEO conducted himself.

“It is the tradition in Yoruba land ( the Baloguns ethnic group) that the eldest male serves as chief host during such events. Every other persons defer to him and in this case, the situation perfectly suited Ladi’s crowd shy nature.” SocietyNow.Ng learned.
