Why Daniel & Amosun Are Giving More People Sleepless Nights

According to those in the know, former Governors Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun are giving more people sleepless nights in the political circle of Ogun state.

Insiders attribute this development to their deepening political rapport.

The owners of two of the most formidable and statewide entrenched political structures in Ogun state want to produce the next state governor.

Many of their supporters are accepting the idea of working together and have started collaborating in taking on perceived political adversaries and wooing more people to their side insiders say.

This development is said to be causing huge concern for other politicians with contrary intentions.

The Amosun and Daniel collaboration is said to have settled on Sharafa Ishola, a former Minister as the preferred next Governor of Ogun State.

And is said to be bolstering its ranks by targeting other powerful political players in and out of their political party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Those in the know say former Senator Iyabo Obasanjo Bello – the daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo – is reawakening for her fanatical following in the name of the Amosun and Daniel collaboration. She is said to be eyeing a return to the Senate in exchange for supporting the collaboration to determine who becomes the next Governor of Ogun state.

“The Amosun and Daniel deepening collaboration, with an increasing number of their supporters buying in, is the talk of the town in Ogun state and is giving those that do not align with their intentions concern” a keen watcher of events stated.

Among those whose followers – and backers -are not comfortable with the development are Governor Dapo Abiodun and his strong ally Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola otherwise known as Senator Yayi.

Senator Adeola who helped the Governor to power in 2019 and 2023 wants to become the next Governor while Abiodun is said to be working on installing a successor that would be “more pliant”.
