Former Senate President Bukola Saraki is extremely happy.
A major step to remove one of the biggest stains of his career has been taken.
And the popular politician is proclaiming this development for all to see.
Saraki is celebrating a development that clears him of alleged involvement in the infamous 2015 offa bank robbery.
Two petitioners at the Judicial Panel of Enquiry on “EndSars” in Ilorin, Kwara state claim officers of the disbanded SARS (Special Anti-Robbery Squad) forced them to implicate Saraki.
The petitioners, Alhaji Kehinde Gobir and Alhaji Shuaib Jawando, claimed there were tortured and spent 73 days in Ilorin and Abuja to make them implicate Saraki in the robbery operation that resulted in multiple deaths.
They admit that they are political supporters of Saraki.
Police counsel, Adekunle Iwalaye, prayed the panel should dismiss the petitions in their entirety.
