Why Aregbesola & Adeleke Are On The Lips Of Many

Governor of Osun state, Ademola Adeleke and former Minister for Interior Rauf Aregbesola are on the lips of many.

Their supposed rosy relationship has transformed into what is about to explode into a political acrimony is the theme of the talks passing from lips to lips.

The action – and in action  – of Aregbesola who is also a former two term governor of Osun sttate ( 21 August 2019 – 29 May 2023) gifted Adeleke the chance to become Governor of Ogun state on 27 November 2022.

Aregbesola, the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) refused to mobilize his game-changer-political-structure to help his party’s gubernatorial candidate, Gboyega Oyetola get a second term in office as a result of an intense power struggle..

Aregbesola’s move helped Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to win the July 16, 2023 Osun gubernatorial election as well as the February 28, 2023 Presidential elections in the state for the PDP and 99% of the March 18, 2023 National and State House of Assembly elections.

Although Governor Adeleke insists there was no arrangement with Aregbesola to help win the elections, he gave the former Governor special recognition – until recently.

The change came with Aregbesola’s move to reconcile with Oyetola and unify the APC into a more formidable political party..

Aregbesola took the step after he left office as Minister of the Federal republic of Nigeria – and Oyetola in retaliation has stopped the recognition he accords the former Governor as well as “cleaning his legacies” by reversing some of the policies of his (Aregbesola’s) administration.
