Suspended Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has reiterated his commitment to building a greater future for the state despite the political challenges surrounding his administration.

Fubara made this declaration on Monday, March 31, 2025, when he received a delegation from the Rivers State Council for Islamic Affairs, who visited him on a Sallah homage. During the visit, the Muslim community offered prayers for the suspended governor and his family, expressing unwavering support for his leadership.

Addressing the delegation, Fubara reaffirmed his belief in divine guidance and his administration’s determination to work towards a more prosperous and inclusive Rivers State.

“It was a good time to reassure them of our hope in God and our determination to actualize a greater future for our dear State,” Fubara stated.

He assured the Muslim community of his government’s dedication to upholding justice and ensuring that no one, regardless of their religious beliefs, would face oppression under his leadership.

“As they declared unwavering support for our government, we promise to continue working to uphold a society where no one or any religion will be oppressed as we stand for what is right and just,” he added.

Fubara’s statement comes amid his ongoing suspension following the federal government’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State. Despite this, he remains steadfast in his vision for the state, engaging with key stakeholders and religious leaders to reinforce his commitment to progress and unity.
