Uprising In Osun As Aregbesola Picks Tinubu’s Cousin As Successor!
Governor of Osun State, Rauf Argebesola has picked his successor.
And his candidate is Gboyega Oyetola, the cousin to his political benefactor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Oyetola is the current chief of state to the outgoing governor.
Sources claim the directive to make Oyetola the next governor of Osun state came from Lagos.
Part of the conditions tied to the arrangement is said to be release of election funds.
Aregbesola’s government is currently battling paucity of funds as he goes into the dire battle to ensure his political party, All Progressives Congress retains control of government in the state.
There is also the added “payback time” arrangement another source added.
Tinubu virtually single-handed installed Aregbesola – his former commissioner in Lagos state – as Governor of Osun state, providing funds and logistics.
Checks by societynow, however, revealed party men in the state are very uncomfortable with the unfolding scenario.
There is said to be an internal “uprising” against the move by Aregbesola as the news of his plot filter out.
Before now, the agitation is that party men should be allowed the choice of determining their candidate through a free and fair shadow election.
Outside of the party, those who have caught a whiff of the plan have vowed to resist the “elongation of Tinubu’s hold on the government of the state”.
