Emerging details have revealed why Adekunle Akinlade, the gubernatorial candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) will not give up in his gubernatorial fight with Governor Dapo Abiodun until he has exhausted all legal means.

Akinlade suffered defeat at the election petition tribunal on Saturday, September 14.

The tribunal upheld the electoral victory of Abiodun as the Governor of Ogun state.

Insiders disclosed to societynow.ng that Akinlade will appeal against the tribunal judgment and every other judgment that goes against him until there is none to contest – if he doesn’t now win before then.

Reason?

The information available to societynow.ng revealed that he remains ‘’in contention’’ to become the governor of Ogun state gives his party, supporters and sympathizers a cause to fight for – and the hope of a better tomorrow.

‘’Those two things – the cause and hope – help to keep the party together and sustain then as an alternative to whatever ills pervade the other political parties whether ruling or others in opposition’’ an insider pointed out.

‘’It sustains the morale of his people and with the patronage that comes from the influence of Amosun, it places the APM on the pedestal to become a formidable political party with higher chances of winning elections in the future’’ societynow.ng learned.

Ibikunle Amosun former governor of Ogun state with the ears of the President – and the Senator representing Ogun Central – is the main power behind Akinlade’s gubernatorial ambition.

Multiple sources insist that the effect of Akinlade accepting defeat – and pulling out of gubernatorial dispute – is just as crushing.

‘’His followers will be demoralized and their galvanizing factor taken away…so to remain a winner in defeat, his choice is obvious’’ a source stated.

Societynow.ng learned that already Amosun, who is versed in local politics, has given the go-ahead to Akinlade to stay the course – appeal the judgment by the tribunal.
