There was a fire incident at the Abeokuta residence of former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Wednesday, February 12, 2020.

The fire outbreak happened at about 9.30 p.m according to emerging details.

Societynow.ng, however, gathered that contrary to multiple slants given to the occurrence the fire incident only affected the store of the former president’s house located at Ita-Eko, Abeokuta.

Sources claim that the fire outbreak was a result of ‘’power surge’’. from the electricity provider.

Domestics workers at the residence, with the aid of sympathizers in the area, curtailed contained the fire to the store before the men of the fire service who put it out.

The affected house was the first – and most popular – residence of the former president before he built other properties that shadowed the humble abode.
