United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has assured the public that its corporate head office, UBA House, Marina, was not affected by a fire incident reported on Lagos Island.
The bank, in a statement on Tuesday, explained that the fire outbreak occurred at a building on Broad Street, Lagos Island, which only houses one of its numerous branches.
“As against reports on online and social media, the affected building is not UBA House, Marina, the Bank’s head office,” the statement read.
UBA noted that all staff, customers, and visitors within the building were evacuated safely. “We have ensured the safety and well-being of our branch staff, customers and other visitors in the building,” it added.
The Pan-African financial institution stressed that operations at its headquarters remain unaffected, while assuring stakeholders of its commitment to safety and transparent communication.
