UBA Africa Conversations: President Kagame Reveals What Need To Be Done To End Insecurity

Wave making President Paul Kagame has provided solutions to the insecurity rocking Nigeria and the whole of Africa.

“We should be thinking about the wellbeing of one another to create a stable continent for us all..We should invest more time and resources in peace” the President of Rwanda stated at the recent UBA Africa Conversations monitored by societynow.ng where he was one of the panelists.

The UBA Africa Conversations is an annual event that celebrates Africa Day and an initiative of UBA Plc, a leading Pan-African financial institution, offering banking services to more than twenty-five million customers, across over 1,000 business offices and customer touchpoints, in 20 African countries

President Kagame was on this year’s panel alongside Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation(WTO); Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organisation(WHO) and Mr. Makhtar Sop Diop, Managing Director, International Finance Corporation(IFC).

The 63years old President while speaking further at the third edition of continent magnifier moderated by Tony Elumulu, the Group Chairman, UBA, and Founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation explained that bringing peace to Africa is a joint effort, especially for everybody in leadership positions in politics, business and communities societynow.ng confirmed.

The Rwanda President, however, noted that “ We can’t switch off the crisis except we address the roots cause” and advocated that “Good politics” should be put in place in the efforts at enabling peace in countries and the continent of Africa.

The former Chairman of the African Union stressed that “I think we need to put a sense of urgency in it” because eradicating insecurity can’t be done “in a fortnight but overtime”.

The menace of insecurity, in recent times, has proven to be a major stumbling block to the development and spread of prosperity in Africa, especially Nigeria.
