Trying Time For Mike Adenuga’s Globacom As Public Angst Rise Against Telecom Firm

Telecommunication Company, Globacom is facing a massive backlash over an unpopular move.

And public angst against the firm is on the rise.

The firm with wealthy Nigerian Mike Adenuga is accused of sacking over 90 percent of its married workers.

This development reportedly targeted female staffers.

And it was allegedly done irrespective of the number of years put into service at the company- and without compensation.

A one month salary was reportedly offered to the victims for the discomfort caused by the sudden action of management.

An unnamed staffer who claimed to be affected by the development – after putting in 13years – brought the development to public notice via social media.

She claimed replacement staffers were employed at a reduced salary to fill the vacuums created by the company’s action.

Insisting the alleged mass sacked of married female workers “a discrimination against gender” the “whistleblower” urged the public to create awareness that would provide “justice” for the victims of the Glo sack.

The “post” has since gone viral and generated great attention and discussion, mostly unfavorable to the brand globacom.

However, in the face of the growing public angst, the management of Globacom has maintained sealed lips.

This is even as claims of similar actions against married staffers in the past are being exhumed.
