Troubled Billionaire Jide Omokore Boosts Sanwo-Olu’s Guber Ambition With Hefty Fund

Troubled oil baron Jide Omokore has been listed as one of the wealthy men backing gubernatorial candidate Babajide Sanwo-Olu to emerge the next governor of Lagos State.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu is the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Lagos State.

Governorship and state assemblies elections are scheduled to hold on Saturday, March 9, 2019.

Available information showed that billionaire Omokore who is under investigation by dreaded anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crime Commission has already committed huge cash to Sanwo-Olu’s campaign.
“It’s big money he is supporting the campaign with” a source in the know disclosed to societynow.ng.

And elated by the financial gesture, Sanwo-olu is said to have visited the man of means personally to say thank you.

Sources maintained the governorship candidate actually made the visit to the billionaire’s Ikoyi Lagos home a couple of days back.

Omokore who is the chairman and founder of Energy Resources Group is one of the big players in the nation’s economy whose business dealings during the reign of former president Goodluck Jonathan are still subject of an investigation by Ibrahim Magu-led anti-corruption body.

Mr. Omokore’s Energy Resources Group conglomerate comprises SPOG Petrochemicals Limited, Energy Resources Management Limited, Energy Property Nigeria Limited, Innovative Haulage Limited, Expedia Marine Ltd and Restore Engineering Limited.
