As Nigeria and the world celebrates Tobi Amusan, the new world record holder, Ladi Adebutu has beaten Governor Dapo Abiodun to identify with the winner from Ogun State.

Adebutu hailed and urged the peope of Ogun state to celebrate Amusan who recorded double history at the World Athletics Championship in Oregon, United States of America over 30 minutes before Governor Abiodun publicly identified with her.

Adebutu posted on his social media page “I join the world, especially our Ogun state citizens to congratulate one of our own, Tobi Amusan for breaking two world records in one night at 12.06s. Making her the first woman to break the 100meters hurdles world record. This achievement is a win for all as it would encourage youth participation in sports if provided with adequate facilities and support which will be one of our major concerns once given opportunity in 2023.”

As a State, we are proud of your success and wish you more greater heights in the years ahead.”
