The information available to societynow.ng has it that the new Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Lagos state, Musliu Akinsanya – alias MC Oluomo – is cleansing the transport union body.

Societynow.ng gathered that those who opposed MC Oluomo’s rise to his current position are leaning a bitter lesson in his brutal pursue of a complete control of the affairs of the union.

Insiders disclosed those that tried to curtail the spread of Oluomo’s influence, after he took office as NURTW chairman, are not left out of the lessons of bitter experience of opposing a man who knows how to mercilessly wield power.

Societynow.ng gathered Oluomo is vigorously weeding out those who vowed he won’t become the chairman of the Lagos state chapter of the transport body and those that failed to cooperate fully with his administration from key positions in the union.

‘’Lucrative spots in the union’s operations have been taken away those seen as dissident’’ societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed that the putting in place of caretaker committees to handle the affairs of some of the branches including some in Lagos Island and Ikorodu are major steps taken by MC Oluomo to weed out his rivals and maintain absolute control of the affairs of the Union.

One of the ploy Oluomo used to execute the takeover of the areas controlled by his opponents was by luring them into police net on allegations of  ‘’public disturbance ‘’ and ‘’fomenting trouble’’ in the guise of inviting them for peace talks.

Some of the arrested members are negotiating their freedom with an undertaking not to cause trouble when released while others pledge allegiance to the leadership of Oluomo.

A well- known street muscle for powerful politician Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, watchers of events assert the brutal process that hands Oluomo a complete control of the affairs of the NURTW in Lagos state puts him in the perfect position to discharge ‘’ duties’’ as a canvasser of grassroots support for his patron – Tinubu.
